The included planting insert is approximately 11 inches deep and sits near the top of the planter. This means you don’t fill the full 36-inch planter body with soil. It also makes it easier to remove plants, refresh seasonal arrangements, and maintain your display.
The insert includes drainage holes, and the planter base has a drainage opening with a grate. For outdoor locations where additional weight is useful, rocks can be placed in the lower portion of the planter to increase stability while the grate continues to allow drainage.
When using the Montrose indoors, we recommend selecting or adding the coordinating drip tray to help protect floors from moisture and drainage.
